Thank You!

Thank you all for coming to Stable on the Strand 2008.  (we estimate some 36,000 visitors)
Thank you —
to all the volunteers (all 721 who registered)
to all who gave  (29 churches totalling over $25,000 and 78 individuals totalling over $12,000)
to our sponsors (52 businesses)
to God  (the cattle on 1000 hills are His!)

The event was a great success. God took care of the weather and not a moment was missed! We look forward to seeing everyone again at Stable on the Strand 2009

World's Biggest Christmas Hamper

can-o-fruit

The Guinness World Record was set at 1151 tins or 2 pallet loads that went to the Food bank…thank you Townsville!

Our Christmas hamper was 3 metres long and 1.5 metres wide and our goal was to fill it over the nights of the Stable on the Strand. The collected food items will be distributed  during January and February.

"Introducing God"

This course will begin at 7:30pm on Wednesday January 21st at John Flynn College Dining Hall, Buchan St, JCU Douglas Campus.
Many people today have some sense of God, but there are few places you can go where you can find out about God. This is one of them. The course 'Introducing God' combines talks, video clips, music and drama. It will give a chance to check things out, sit back, think and talk. There is no charge, no catch and no obligation.

Phone 4728 9892 or 0422 948 412 for more info. It is being run by the combined Churches of Townsville.

Stable on the Strand

19-23 December 2009, 5:30-9:30 pm nightly — FREE

In celebration of Christmas, Townsville’s major waterfront park, Strand park, will be transformed into the historic town of Bethlehem, complete with Roman soldiers, traditional craftspeople, livestock, shepherds and of course Mary, Joseph and baby Jesus. Enjoy the ambience of Bethlehem 2000 years ago, then head to the adjacent stage on the beach to be entertained by talented performers.
